A directional speaker with a parabolic cone is used to direct audio to one specific location. The cone creates a localized sound area for a listener that can effectively cancel background noise while also offering a sound barrier so what is being projected inside can not be heard by others outside the dome, reducing audio spillover.
A microphone was placed on top of the building and the sound you hear are birds that have nested and taken over the roof of the existing factory. This sound dome is being used to amplify and document the evolving aural conditions of the forgotten and abandoned space.
